Sleep Center

Sleep disorders are a common medical problem affecting millions of Americans. Too often these disorders go unrecognized by both patients and physicians. At the Livingston HealthCare Sleep Center, we use the latest medical techniques to assess your sleep and help you get the rest you need.

A sleep study (also called a polysomnogram) is a test that records your physical state during various stages of sleep and wakefulness. It provides data that is essential in evaluating sleep and sleep-related complaints, such as identifying sleep stages, body position, blood oxygen levels, respiratory events, muscle tone, heart rate, amount of snoring, and general sleep behavior.

Our sleep studies are performed by Virginia Pascual, M.D., a physician who is board certified in sleep medicine. Dr. Pascual relocated to Montana in 1997 with several years experience practicing sleep medicine. After graduating from medical school at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, she completed a residency in internal medicine at Baptist Medical Centers and fellowship in sleep medicine at the Sleep Disorders Center of Alabama. Dr. Pascual went on to set up a private practice and work with sleep disorder centers in Birmingham, Alabama until she moved to Bozeman. Since settling in Montana, she has set up a practice and now works with sleep centers in Livingston and Bozeman. Dr. Pascual is also a member of the ad hoc faculty of the WWAMI School of Medicine. She says she chose sleep medicine because, "poor sleep can have such an impact on many aspects of a person's health."

The Livingston HealthCare Sleep Center is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). For more information about sleep studies, download our brochure, talk with your physician or call 406-222-6300.
