Parents Travis and Aurora Sarisky, of Emigrant along with staff at Livingston HealthCare welcomed the first baby of 2017.
Sierra Noelle Sarisky was born at 3:15 a.m., Tuesday Jan. 3, measuring 21 inches and weighing 7 pounds, 14 ounces.
Sierra joins her older sister Sophia, age 1, who referred to the newest family member as, “Cute baby.”
Travis said the family had traveled the snow-drifting roads from their home near Gardiner on January 2 at around 7 p.m., only to find that Aurora wasn’t quite ready to deliver. Upon arriving back home, and turning in for the night, Aurora’s water broke. So, the two piled back into the car to arrive back at LHC around 1:20 a.m. for the delivery.
“Our neighbor is so great. He must have plowed our driveway three or four times that night to make sure we could get out,” recalls Travis.
“It was stressful not knowing when the baby was coming with the snowstorm,” says Aurora, “but everything went well anyway. It was nice to have a quiet hospital to come to and get a little rest,” she said.
