Renowned Montana Artist Jim Dolan Donates Sculpture to Livingston HealthCare
(Livingston, MT)—Livingston HealthCare is proud to welcome Breaking Free, a dynamic twelve-foot rocking horse sculpture donated by acclaimed Montana artist Jim Dolan, to its renowned art collection. Installed near the main entrance, the sculpture symbolizes freedom, strength, and renewal—an apt metaphor for healing and resilience—and further enriches the hospital’s peaceful, restorative environment.
Jim Dolan, a Bozeman-based artist known for over 170 large-scale public art installations across the globe, including the iconic Bleu Horses near Three Forks, created Breaking Free to embody the essence of breaking through limitations. His internationally celebrated craftsmanship brings energy and lifelike detail to the piece.
“We are honored to receive Breaking Free from Jim Dolan,” said Jessica Wilcox, Executive Director of the Livingston HealthCare Foundation. “Its powerful symbolism aligns with our mission to create a healing and empowering atmosphere for our community.”
Livingston HealthCare’s art collection features contributions from regional artists who believe in the transformative power of art to enhance well-being. Dolan’s donation strengthens this tradition while showcasing his legacy as one of Montana’s most influential artists. Recently honored with the Governor’s Arts Award, Dolan’s work celebrates nature’s beauty and inspires audiences worldwide.
A public unveiling ceremony will be held this spring to introduce Breaking Free and celebrate the role of art in healthcare.
