How Robotic-assisted Surgery Works
During robotic-assisted surgery, the surgeon controls the da Vinci surgical system through a special console in the room. The robot does not act on its own—its movements are entirely controlled by the surgeon. The platform’s vision capabilities give your surgeon a highly magnified, crystal-clear, 3D view of fine details of targeted areas during surgery. The platform's movement capapibilities enable your surgeon to use smaller incisions and access more difficult to reach areas.
Robotic-assisted surgery technology was initially adopted for prostatectomies and gynecology. Today, the da Vinci Robot has become more commonly utilized in a number of general surgery and other procedures.
Common Robotic-assisted Surgery Procedures
