Livingston HealthCare (LHC) has been named in the top 20 out of over 1,300 Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) in the United States by the National Rural Health Association (NRHA) for the third year in a row. The ranking is based on a study from The Chartis Center for Rural Health, a comprehensive advisory and analytics services firm dedicated to the healthcare industry. This significant honor highlights the hospital’s continued dedication to providing the highest quality patient care to the Park County community and neighboring regions.
The ranking appears in the iVantage Health Analytics Hospital Strength INDEX, which is touted as the industry’s most objective and comprehensive assessment of rural hospital performance in the country. Livingston HealthCare received a 98.3 percent overall score, compared to a median score of 68.6 for all other Montana CAHs. Over the past eight years, 140 CAHs have reached Top 20 status. Livingston HealthCare is one of 17 to be recognized three or more times. Fewer than six CAHs have received the Top 20 designation from 2016-2018, alongside Livingston.
“When the National Rural Health Association called to notify Livingston HealthCare of our Top 20 designation, they expressed how rare it is for a hospital to achieve the award three years in a row,” stated Deb Anczak, CEO of Livingston HealthCare. “LHC’s three consecutive Top 20 recognitions are a reflection of our employees’ dedication to patient-centered care. We are truly grateful for the entire LHC team and their commitment to our patients and their families.”
The Hospital Strength INDEX tracks performance metrics for more than 4,000 acute care hospitals, including over 2,000 rural and Critical Access Hospitals. It aggregates data for 70 indicators, compiled into eight performance categories, and ranks hospitals against national peer groups using a 0-100 scale for all performance categories. It’s the first rating system to include the country’s more than 1,300 Critical Access Hospitals, a federal designation for small rural hospitals with 25 inpatient beds or less.
