Annual Pediatric Physicals

Livingston HealthCare encourages 12 to 17 year olds to get annual physical examinations from their pediatricians. These exams help a child develop healthy habits—and stay on a journey of lifelong wellness—while also ensuring prevention or early detection of illnesses/conditions. What Does a Pediatric Physical Include?

The visit lasts approximately 30 minutes. Topics and areas of focus include:

• A thorough physical evaluation
• A vision exam
• A growth check
• Education with a healthcare provider to prepare teens for summer activities, school sports and life

This physical covers all requirements for school sports physicals, summer activities, camps, and other extracurricular activities and events. The young person must bring any specific forms that must be signed by a doctor in order to participate in those events with him/her to the exam. Forms containing parent information and medical history must be already completed before arriving for your appointment.
